The Message of Issa Ber

“Le Message Du Issa Ber”, the message from the Niger River along its desert shores has been captured and canned by sound engineer Quino Piñero and a musicology research team. The sounds emerging from this Northern Malian region are the main characters in this film, a journey through the music of the different cultures and genres coexisting in the Niger Bend, all sharing a common interaction with the same river. “Le message Du Issa Ber” is the result of five years of music production and research by SolySombra Recordings in Mali funded by the Bibliographic Archives of the Junta de Andalucia. All footage taken during these years as document material, has been put together with a sample of the audio works to share the musical universe of this remote region.
