Joost van de Ven

Joost van de Ven is a confident, creative spirit who combines courage and sovereignty in the right dose. As a child he wanted to be a filmmaker and asked friends to act in his films. At the atheneum his interest shifted to politics and society, and so decided to study cultural anthropology at the University of Amsterdam. During his student years he merged film and society up to obtaining a master’s degree in visual sciences. Now, as a filmmaker and anthropologist, he thinks outside the box and uses his intuition as a compass. With Amsterdam as his home base, Joost travels the world in search of interesting stories. “I want to think across borders, fight straightforward discourse and bring people together”.
