After fourteen incredible days of physical and online screenings, side events, and open discussions, the 15th Ethnofest-Athens Ethnographic Film Festival has come to a close. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated team, the broader festival community, our audience, and the individuals and institutions whose support has been vital to us over the years.
This year, we were thrilled to see the festival continue to grow and engage with an ever-expanding international community, further enriched by our educational activities and remarkable guests such as Barley Norton, Mahdi Fleifel, and many others.
We believe that this year’s event has done more than just showcase films—it has sparked meaningful conversations, expanded horizons, and ignited the creative endeavors of young visual anthropologists and filmmakers. Through thought-provoking screenings and engaging post-screening discussions, we have raised critical questions about the state of our world, encouraging reflection and action. We have also celebrated the importance of looking toward the future with hope, optimism, and a renewed commitment to understanding and empathy.
As we close this chapter, we are excited about the continued dialogue and connections fostered through the festival’s side activities and year-round projects, which will remain an important platform for sharing the conversations, insights, and resources generated at the festival. We look forward to what’s next.
Thank you again for being part of this journey. See you next year!
