Stoa

Following the breath of an ancient city down its inner body of passages: the stoas. Three bodies, the researchers, try to extricate those inner urban layers and make sense to them. Or are they rather giving sense to them?

Jonathan Bugiel

A curious human being and media scientist turned documentary filmmaker. Born and raised in Berlin he quickly ran away into the world living in Jerusalem, Rome and Bayreuth where he then studied media science and ethnology. Bugiel started out as a filmmaker in factual entertainment and joined the industry platform of the DOK.fest Munich in 2022. Currently, he is training as a documentary film director at ZeLIG in the Italian Alps.

Sara Cecconi

Born in Perugia in 1993, Sara Cecconi moved to Rome to pursue her studies. After a degree in Literature, she obtained a master’s degree in cinema and completed her studies at the Scuola di Cinema Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, in the three- year advanced training courses in Film Production. In 2022, she started working as an intern with Ring Film. In 2023, she worked on the new film by documentary filmmaker Federica Di Giacomo; in the same year, she also shot her first documentary film.

Sofia La Malfa

Sofia currently lives in Amsterdam, where she is pursuing her studies in Medical Anthropology. With a previous specialisation in Visual Anthropology and a passion for audio-visual mediums, her research explores paths beyond body/mind dichotomy through feminist theory and a phenomenological lens, focusing on the embodied condition of being. She is interested in how research and creative practices can be implemented to discern how art and the body interact, transcend, and engage with the World.
