Silent Horizons

In an unassuming corner of Kastella in Piraeus port, cradled between the gentle waves and the curious gazes of tourists, we are given a glimpse of the two fishermen’s day. Through their anecdotes, the film unveils the costs and traditions inherent in their unconventional lives. As the sea becomes their sanctuary, lineage compels them on a journey exploring the profound intersection of family, heritage, and the meaning of home.

Jessica Comino

Jessica Comino is a PhD researcher and urban planner currently working on the intersection between perception of place and visual arts investigation. Starting from geospatial emergency assessment, satellite and drones imagery, her personal and professional interest is now moving towards ethnographic approaches and anthropological studies. In particular, the adoption of filmmaking practices as tools to better understand, hence design and represent, places and their inhabitants.

Pedro thinks of journalism, in all its forms, as a set of tools that deepen knowledge of self and others by exercising communication and exposing us to scenarios that challenge our current frames of perception.

Rangelle Pichay, a Master’s graduate in Law and Society with a focus on postcolonialism and expressivism in legal contexts. Grounded in sociology and politics, her primary interests lie in migration and identity formation, examining the nuanced interplay between legal structures and social dynamics.
