A short documentary about “Anasa”, a cultural center in Athens created by people of African origin, which fights against racism, exclusion, and discrimination. The word “Anasa” in Swahili means “joy of life”, and this film aims to be a brief study of joyful and living examples of empowerment, solidarity, and struggle.
Kostas Fourikos
Kostas Fourikos was born in Thessaloniki in 1986. He studied Economics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and pursued a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy at Panteion University. He continued his postgraduate studies in Communication and Cultural Technology, focusing on Documentary Film Production at the Aegean University. He studied Directing at Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos and in Athens Filmschool, and he is currently a PhD candidate in Cultural Geography at Harokopio University, focusing on issues of artistic creation, migration, struggle, and identity. He has been professionally active in organizing music concerts and other cultural events since 2014 and in recent years, he has worked in feature and short films, covering various capacities. His first fictional short film, titled “TETRIS,” is currently in post-production.
