Here You Are is a personal exploration of the diasporic identity in London using archival footage. It is a homage and an acknowledgement of the intersectional and intergenerational experience of the diaspora in London, that can be found in most European cities.

Melisa is currently a visual anthropology student from south London, interested in exploring the diasporic identity and experience in London. Her current work is concerned with what this means to young people today, how it plays out in our lives and how we find connections in our stories alongside our differences. It’s important for her to explore and acknowledge the intersectional and intergenerational experiences of the diaspora in her work and to find ways to empower the narratives less seen and heard.
