Baltic (so it is!)

A group of sprightly middle-aged women take up cold water swimming on the Northern Irish coast. With squealing laughs in the freezing water and hot cups of tea sprinkled with sand, they leave behind sorrows, form friendships, and redefine the idea of longevity.

Stella Skiadopoulou

Stella Skiadopoulou is a filmmaker and film student at the Film Studies and Production BA at Queen’s University Belfast, passionate about stories of the human nature and our universe. This thirst for learning kept her on a long scientific academic path for more than 18 years, studying and working as a researcher in Physics and Material Science in 6 different academic institutions. She studied Astrophysics as an undergrad student in Greece, Material Engineering during her MSc in Portugal, she did her PhD in Solid State Physics in Prague Czech Republic, and worked as a Material Science postdoctoral fellow in Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.

Ιn 2021 she decided to dedicate her time entirely on filmmaking, starting with her Film BA studies in Belfast.
