Hope Strickland

Hope Strickland is a visual anthropologist from Manchester, UK. Interests involve feminist film practices, archival response and an experimental approach to critical blackness. Da Hillsook Wedeen has been screened at a variety of anthropological film festivals and is included in the official selection for this year’s Society for Visual Anthropology Film and Media Festival (SVAFMF) and the Nordic Anthropological Film Association Festival (NAFA). Hope is currently working on a film with the elderly Caribbean community in Manchester, exploring transnational migration and an ethics of care.
