Boris Svartzman

Boris Svartzman, a Franco-Argentinian photographer and sociologist, has documented the social consequences of urbanisation in China since the beginning of the millenium. His photographes have been exhibited in several festivals, including the prestigious Visa pour l’image. He focuses on the lives of the millions of peasants who are evicted every year in China and relocated to urban areas. For ten years, he has filmed the struggle of villagers against the expropriation of their land, in his first documentary.
