He was born in Athens and he spent his childhood in the border region of Epirus. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering of National Technical University of Athens. He studied film direction at the Stavrakos School, while he furthered his studies in Paris. Alexandros was an associate of Theo Angelopoulos in five films. He began directing documentaries before and during his studies. He has worked for years as a radio producer, while among other he has directed the TV production Other Lights. His documentary The End of an Eternity has enjoyed wide international distribution. In 2018 he was proclaimed honorary citizen of Dropoli for his contribution to the promotion of Epirus Polyphonic Song and honorary citizen of the community of Olympos, Municipality of Karpathos, for his contribution to the living heritage of the village.
