Inhale, Exhale

‘Inhale, Exhale’ is a short ethnographic film that arose out of the field reflections of three filmmakers navigating the grass-roots network of wildfire response and aid in and around Athens, Greece. A growing cause for concern among citizens, nature and wildlife alike, the film zooms in on a forgotten victim.

Anna Váchová, Antigoni Karnesioti, Tabea Pawar

Antigoni – an educator and filmmaker based between her hometown Athens and the Epirus mountains [Greece], Anna – a social anthropology student at Masaryk University based in Prague [Czechia], and Tabea – a Leiden University visual anthropology graduate, originally from Pune [India]; found their mutual interest in exploring locally relevant social and environmental issues through the medium of sound and film. Curious to develop their skills in communicating the lived experiences of socio-environmental issues, their collective work productively exposed them to each other’s styles of and perspectives on documentary story-telling.
