Evy & I

A recently-separated thirty-something seeks refuge with her cousin Evelyne, a lively sexagenarian who has recently become blind – and whose apartment is overrun by cockroaches. The two decide to set off on the shores of Lake Geneva, with neither money nor car, in search of encounters and adventures.

Hélène Bares

Hélène Bares lives in Marseille. She acts in French TV series and teaches acting to school children. She was attracted to documentaries as a means of exploring intimacy and of creative freedom. She began her practice by filming her dear ones and those who crossed her path. The camera is used as an excuse to be with people. She creates situations that combine comedy and documentary and the people she films turn into authentic cinema characters. Her first short film about the death of a pet in a family, Ashley Forever, was screened at Corsica Doc 2021. Evy & I is her first feature film.
