Kenya

Kenya is an intimate portrait of a transgender female sex worker who faces the transfeminicide of her sex worker partner. The story talks about the violence that trans women experience in Mexico, the country with the second most hate crimes due to transphobia in the world. The film brings us closer to a world full of darkness which is filled with light through the actions of the protagonist, her conviction to fight, and her humanity.

Gisela Delgadillo

Gisela Delgadillo (Mexico City, 1984), photographer and audiovisual producer, with experience in documentary and journalistic research. In 2016 he entered the Master’s degree in Documentary Film at the National School of Cinematographic Arts where he began producing and directing his first documentary feature film “Kenya”. She has worked as an audiovisual producer in the area of production and post-production of audiovisual materials in independent media, civil organizations and educational institutes. She has experience working in the field with vulnerable populations, particularly with indigenous communities and people from the LGBTIQ+ community. Since 2018 he began collaborating with the civil association Casa de las Muñecas Tiresias, A.C., founded by the trans activist Kenya Cuevas and is currently in the development stage of his second documentary feature film.
