Lara –a young filmmaker– finds herself in a no place between Cuba and Mozambique. Over an imagined balcony towards the Indian Ocean, Lara is searching for answers to the long silence of her father. She does feel the loneliness preceding the imminent demise of her father, Camilo. She begins to draw up paths that prevent her from the beginning of the end.

Lara Sousa

Lara Sousa, from Mozambique, studied Cinema with a specialization degree in Documentary Direction in the International School of Cinema and Television of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV), Cuba. She also studied Anthropology, with specialization in Visual Anthropology in Portugal (ISCTE) and Spain (UCM). In the last year, has made a short documentary called End. She was programmer of the DOCKANEMA Documentary Festival of Mozambique for several years. She has worked in social and development projects, especially production of community audiovisual materials. Her research focused mainly on gender issues, human rights, international development cooperation, emigration and diaspora.
