A cup of water, a few olive oil drops, some whispered prayers, a flood of memories,
a storm of laughter. At grandma's house, the recipe of love always has the same
ingredients. On a typical Sunday, three generations are there to share it.
Alexandra Tzavella, is a journalist and has worked since 2005 in printed and digital
media in Greece. As a feature writer and digital storyteller, she has researched and
investigated a multitude of diverse topics ranging from social, to political, economic
and crime. She is currently based in London doing an MA in interactive documentary
at the University of Westminster’s Digital and Interactive Storytelling Lab. "The
Shield" is one of her first hands-on experiences in filming and editing and was shot
exclusively on an iPhone, in the context of the e-learning Documentary Programme
of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
