We are really excited to announce a collaboration of which we are most proud of: Ethnofest and JAF (Journal of Anthropological Films, by the wonderful Nordic Anthropological Film Association (NAFA) ) will collaborate to produce a Special Issue based on this year’s Festival themed section – “Critical Encounters: The European Refugee Crisis”, which is curated by Katerina Rozakou and Ifigenia Anastasiadi!
JAF is a highly innovative journal that peer-reviews and publishes anthropological films, and that has already earned our full respect and appreciation for its dedication to the promotion of anthropological films as scholarly work. A brand new issue of JAF is just out and you are welcome to check it out here: http://boap.uib.no/index.php/jaf
JAF and Ethnofest are pretty much like-minded initiatives as far as disseminating anthropological films and advocating their scientific value as anthropology is concerned, thus it feels pretty natural that our paths cross. We have commonly decided that Ethnofest will edit the journal’s first ever special issue, so JAF Volume 3 Issue 1 (2019) will be a Special Issue based on Ethnofest’s themed section “Critical Encounters: The European Refugee Crisis”. This means that by submitting your film for this years Themed section, your film might additionally be considered for inclusion in the special issue!
