Every Saturday in the neighborhood of Exarchia in Athens, the farmers’ market happens. This film follows the market from its setup to its closing, showing not only the buying and selling of different products but also the hard, mostly unseen work that goes into it.
Myrto Greve
Myrto Greve grew up in Athens and pursued studies in Communication Sciences and Anthropology in Berlin, followed by a master’s in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. Her academic work centers on urban anthropology, with field research in Exarchia, Athens, where she applied participatory methodologies to explore sensorial perceptions of space. Over the past few years, she has worked in media production and the film industry in Germany. Currently, she is seeking ways to reconnect with ethnographic research and creative practice, with a growing interest in visual storytelling and documentary production.
Sarah Krause
Sarah Krause completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of Konstanz in 2023 and has been studying for a master’s degree in ethnology and sociology there since the summer semester of 2023. Her main areas of interest are issues of belonging and identity, mainly in connection with migration and place. In 2024 and 2025, she conducted research stays in Crete and is currently writing her master thesis on the physical and social dimensions of place in a Cretan village. Several seminars with an audiovisual focus led by Dr. Maria Lidola sparked her interest in this type of research practice, which she has since incorporated into her own research on numerous occasions.
